New Year's Eve to be celebrated at hotels

Transtlate It's never unusual that we have a family reunion dinner on New Year's Eve every year. As this year's New Year's Day will coincide with Valentine's Day on Feb. 14, merchants are trying to seize the gold opportunity to promote their New Year's Eve dinners at whopping prices.
These dinners are normally priced at over 10,000 yuan per table.
Xiamen Hotel discloses that, to meet the demands of high-grade customers, they have launched a "luxurious and precious" dinner, which is priced at more than 10,000 yuan per table. Dishes include shark's fin, South African abalone, spotted deer rib, imperial bird's nest and other items.
Le Meridien Xiamen Hotel even offers a "presidential suite and luxurious dinner". The principal says that their chef will combine different dishes together and tailor an exclusive dinner for lovers based on a complete understanding of the lovers' dietary structure.
It is estimated that it will cost two lovers more than 20,000 yuan for the dinner. However, besides dining, the hotel will provide picking up service with Mercedes-Benz for free, together with a presidential suite, 999 red roses, live music and champagne.
According to the Best Western Premier Xiamen Central Hotel, Xiamen Powerlong Hotel and Peony International Hotel, the current price for a New Year's Eve dinner is 1000-3000 yuan/table.
Mr. Chen, a Xiamen citizen said, in spite of people's improving standard of living, a dinner on New Year's Eve for lovers that cost over 10,000 yuan are too expensive. "Instead, I would prefer to buy an article of luxury for my relatives, friends or girlfriend.", said Mr. Chen, adding that it is too lavish for a dinner only.
Many interviewed citizens said that a New Year's Eve dinner of less than 2,000 yuan is acceptable, while it's a little extravagant to have a dinner of about 4,000 yuan and those dinners of over 10,000 yuan is much too lavish.
