Cooperative Agreements Signed between Jiangsu University and Wayne State University

 From Mar. 27 to 28, Pro. Farshad Fotouhi, Dean of School of Mechanical Engineering, Wayne State University (WSU), USA headed a delegation to our university. President Prof. Yuan Shouqi and Vice President Prof. Chen Long met with them. The two parties signed PhD Scholarship Program Agreement  between Jiangsu University and Wayne State University and Memorandum of Understanding between Jiangsu University and Wayne State University on The Development of International Joint Research Laboratory and reached consensus on postgraduates joint training, international joint research laboratory and multi-level cooperation between the two universities.

During the talks, President Yuan and Pro. Farshad Fotouhi introduced the schooling history, disciplines and strength as well as achievements in scientific research, talent cultivation and so on of each university, especially in the field of engineering. Representatives from International Office, School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering, School of Electrical and Information Engineering and School of Computer Science and Communication Engineering attended the talks. 

Moreover, Pro. Farshad Fotouhi and his team also visited the campus and laboratories of School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering Research Institute, through which they got a more vivid impression of our university. 

   Founded in 1868, Wayne State University was located in Detroit, the center of auto manufacturing. It offers more than 370 academic programs through 13 schools and colleges to nearly 26,000 students. The university is accredited by National Science Foundation (NSF) as top 50 public universities in research expenses and is also categorized as a Research-oriented University by Carnegie Foundation for Advancement Teaching. There are no more than 100 universities across the United States received this honor. School of Engineering was established in 1933, one of the most important engineering institutions in Michigan, which had 13 faculties. It has a lead in the field of renewable energy engineering, automotive engineering and biomedical engineering in USA.
